This book is a culmination of over 35 years of research, 8,000+ travel miles and well over $4k in expenses by the author. Includes 10 years of writing, consisting of 3 complete rewrites.

The content should prove to be informative and perhaps thought provoking and controversial. There are many genealogy books written over the history of humans. However, how many books have you found that are dedicated to exploration and documentation of the Pitres? This book should prove to be the first of its kind in many respects. There are many stories about the origins and history of the surname Pitre as well as who are these people. It is also a testimonial of one man’s journey into life long questions, hunger for knowledge, and thirst for absolute universal truth. Many stories have been told about the Pitres and their origins. Who was Jean Pitre living in 17th century Port Royal L'Acadie? Was he from France? Maybe from England as some would suggest? Maybe neither? Perhaps the analysis holds surprising clues towards answering this age old question and others? Where, how and why did the "Pitre" name originate from?

Mr. Pitre's journey to find his family history from Louisiana, to Canada, to France is a touching one. It is also very-well documented in his book. The book is full of photos recording his journey and family's history. It is quite clear that much time was put into this search, and the search is not over. Is one's search ever fully over? I highly recommend this book.

The cover is especially unique and captivating. I love it! It was quite exciting to read about the geographical history of the Pitre name. Congratulations.

The content was extensive and informative. Lot of interesting details about our family, i never knew or heard about before. It got me excited to research further on various topics and help provide answers to many unknowns. Well Done. Thank you for spending the time and effort on the research.

Hearing stories about ancestors I only had a birth and death date for was awesome! The touches of history (Where the Pitre's ended up originally when they came to La., Montegut history, and the Montegut Hermit Info.) were an added delight. The countless hours you've spent researching, interviewing folks and writing the book is truly commendable. Thanks so much. PITRE COUSINS, Don't hesitate to buy Lee Roy's book??. It has priceless information in it that should be handed down from one generation to another. I bought a copy for each of my children too!
